Word Ladder, one letter at a time

You get a start word, an end word, and a few blank rungs in between. Each rung changes exactly one letter from the word above it, and every blank comes with its own clue to help you along.

Steps

1. Open “Games” and tap “Word Ladder”.
2. Read the clue under a blank rung and type your word into the box.
3. Fill in as many rungs as you can work out.
4. Tap “Check answers”.
5. Right answers lock in as solid words. Wrong ones flash, clear themselves and add to your mistake count.
6. Keep going until every rung is filled and the ladder is complete.

Tips

• Blanks don’t count against you, so check a couple of rungs and come back for the rest whenever you like.
• Working from both ends towards the middle often cracks it faster than going top to bottom.
• Only filled-in wrong answers count as mistakes, and there’s no way to lose. The worst that happens is a lower score.
