Qbit Teens: accounts for ages 13 to 17

Get a heads-up on new sign-ins

This one watches the front door. A sign-in on a new device, a sign-in from a new country, or a run of failed password attempts on your teen’s account, and Qbit lets you know.

Steps

  1. Open “Qbit Teens” and tap your teen’s name.
  2. Tap “Security Alerts” to open it.
  3. When all is well you see a shield and the line “All clear. We’ll alert you here if anything looks off.”
  4. If something comes up, each alert tells you what happened, when, where, and from which IP address.
  5. Tap “Acknowledge” to clear an alert. It drops off the list.

Tips

  • You can also get an email whenever one fires, so there’s no need to keep checking the page. That switch is under “Notifications”.
  • A failed attempt or two is usually a mistyped password. A run of them from somewhere unfamiliar is worth a password reset.
