Your teen signs in with an email and password, here’s how to set it up
Teens sign in to Qbit the grown-up way, with an email address and a password, so there’s no coming to find you for a code every time they pick up a new device. You set the password, you can reset it, and you can take it back.
Screenshots are on their way for this one.
Steps
- Open “Qbit Teens” and tap your teen’s name.
- In the “Sign-in” section near the top, tap “Set sign-in password”.
- Enter the email address they’ll sign in with.
- Enter a password of at least 8 characters and type it again to confirm.
- Tap “Save password”.
- On their own device, your teen opens qbit.app, taps Sign in, picks the teen sign-in option and enters that email and password.
- To reset the password later, open the same box and save a new one. To remove password sign-in altogether, tap the revoke button and confirm.
Tips
- The “Sign-in” section shows the email on file and whether a password is set, so you can tell at a glance how your teen gets in.
- Only you can set or change the password. Your teen can’t change it on their own, which is why a forgotten password is a quick trip to you rather than a reset email.
- That email is for signing in. Qbit never sends marketing to it.
Good to know
Good to know: A sign-in code from the same page still works whenever you’d rather pair a device yourself. A sign-in on a new device or from a new country shows up under Security Alerts either way.
