Safety alerts keep you in the loop

Qbit looks out for your teen in every chat, here’s what that covers

Qbit moderates every conversation and every upload, and raises a flag when something looks like it deserves your notice. You get the category, when it happened and a short excerpt of what was said, so you’re never left guessing.

Steps

  1. Open “Qbit Teens”, tap your teen, and expand “Alerts”.
  2. When everything’s quiet, you’ll see a shield and the words “All clear. No current alerts.”
  3. When something has come up, each alert shows the category, how long ago it happened, the flagged excerpt, and which channels Qbit used to tell you.
  4. Tap “View all alerts →” for the full page, with its Current, Archive and Saved tabs.

Tips

  • Categories: Qbit watches for bullying and hate, self-harm, depression, sexual content, violence and weapons, substance use, body image, risky apps and sites, profanity, and possible grooming.
  • An alert can start in a Qbit chat, a folder name or description, or a photo or document. On the full alerts page, each source gets its own little icon.
  • The excerpts are short on purpose. For the whole conversation, use “Use Qbit as” from your teen’s page.
