Adding your teen to Qbit, here’s how
Your teen gets a Qbit of their own for homework, projects, questions and curiosity, with the protections for their age already switched on and every setting, alert and detail at your fingertips.
Steps
- Open “Qbit Teens” from the menu and tap the Add button.
- Type your teen’s first name. Up to 60 characters.
- Set their date of birth. Qbit Teens is for ages 13 to 17.
- If you like, add a few notes about them, for example “Loves astronomy, finding algebra hard”. Up to 500 characters.
- Tap the button that creates the account.
- Read the Teen Account Notice that appears and tap the agree button at the bottom.
- Qbit creates the account and takes you straight to your teen’s page.
- Set a sign-in email and password for them in the “Sign-in” section, or show them the sign-in code on the screen. Either one gets them in on their own device.
Tips
- The notes box appears only while you’re creating the account, so it’s worth jotting something down now.
- You can add up to ten teens. At ten, the Add button grays out.
- An email and password is the everyday way for a teen to sign in. The code is handy for a tablet that stays at home.
Good to know
Good to know: The date of birth has to put your teen between 13 and 17. Qbit checks it on the screen and again on Qbit’s side, so an account for someone younger can’t be created here.
