Making Qbit yours

SafeSearch moderates results, here’s what it filters and how to change it

SafeSearch filters explicit images, text and links out of the results Qbit shows you. It’s on from the very start, and it stays locked on until your account is set to show you are at least 18 years of age.

Screenshots are on their way for this one.

Steps

  1. Open Settings and scroll to the Preferences section.
  2. Find the “SafeSearch” row. If it shows a padlock and the word “Locked”, tap anywhere on the row and Qbit will tell you why.
  3. To unlock it, go to My Profile, open “My Important Dates” and ensure your birthday is set correctly (and that you are 18 or over).
  4. Come back to Settings, and SafeSearch can be switched off if you’d like.

Tips

  • Tapping a locked row always tells you the reason, so you’re never left guessing.

Good to know

Good to know: The lock stays on for anyone with no birthday on file and for everyone under 18. If a birthday was entered incorrectly and is updated to under-18, the lock switches back on.
