Every teen is different, here’s how to adjust the sensitivity by category
Every family draws the line in its own place, and a thirteen-year-old and a seventeen-year-old are pretty different too. So you can tell Qbit how readily to flag each kind of thing, one category at a time.
Screenshots are on their way for this one.
Steps
- Open “Configure alerts” under your teen’s “Alerts” section.
- Scroll down to “Sensitivity per category”.
- For any of Bullying, Self-harm, Depression, Sexual, Violence & weapons, Substance use, Body image, Risky apps / sites and Profanity, tap one of the four buttons: off, less sensitive, default, more sensitive.
- That’s it. Your choice saves the moment you tap.
Tips
- More sensitive means more alerts, less sensitive means fewer. Every setting is your choice, and you can change it again whenever you like.
- Settings are per teen, so a sixteen-year-old’s account and a thirteen-year-old’s can sit at very different levels.
Good to know
Good to know: Any category can be switched off completely. A small number of the most serious things, such as a harmful reply or sexual content involving a minor, always reach you whatever the settings say.
